Sean Starke

Sean Starke (born January 28, 1980 in Montreal, Quebec) is a Canadian retired former professional ice hockey player, who last played for the Manchester Phoenix. He has played a high level of hockey since 1999, where he played for Bowdoin College in New England for four seasons, providing a decent return of 101 points in that time. He then moved to Europe, playing for the local team in Neuss, Germany. Starke stayed just one season, the 2003/04 season before returning to North America.
While here he played for the Kalamazoo Wings, the Flint Generals, the Roanoke Valley Vipers and the Quad City Mallards all of the UHL. While playing for the Mallards, Starke was a line-mate of Luke Stauffacher. Both went on to sign for the Manchester Phoenix in the United Kingdom, playing at EIHL level. Starke's final season in professional hockey was a positive one, and he was widely recognised by Phoenix fans as being one of the team's main contributors with his intelligent play and high work rate. In the summer of 2008, Starke confirmed his retirement from the playing side of the game.
